So this is my final peice for my painting class and I am extremely happy with it. I decided to go my own route and found an artist that inspired me, David Mack. www.davidmack.net

He incorporates painting and writing together in an art-based graphic novel called Kabuki. I think the way he captures the emotions and softness in his portraits is beautiful. He uses alot of watercolor with acrylic.

Along with Mack, my muse is always music. The Almost Alice soundtrack is what most inspired the concept of this peice, which is the surreal sense of being lost in your own Wonderland and falling down through life. I was planning on incorporating some collage peices like Mack to finish it off, but I like it the way it is so much I wanted to save the work done already before I attempt something that may maim it. And if you are wondering, the lovely Holly was kind enough to let me use [link] as my reference. It doesn't quite look like her, I am horrible at getting faces just right, but the main point isn't who it looks like.

And no, it's not blurry, that's just my style of painting... it also got a little glare and trying to correct the color was oh-so-fun, but I can only do my best when I don't own any sort of Photoshop. Also, the canvas had a weird thread thing in it which is why there is that line near the bottom.

Alas, our wall art has been transported to the internet!
I really like this painting, now that I've gotten over the upside-down thing. It’s lovely.
